The avant-garde artist group space Plan was born in Tottori in 1968. The activities by Satoshi Taniguchi (1929 ~) and Kenro Yamada (1941 ~), which are the constituent members, are characterized as minimalism typified by the three-dimensional objects reduced to simple colors and shapes. In addition to the Civic Center and galleries, the exhibition was actively engaged in outdoor exhibitions in various parts of Tottori city. Especially, the exhibition of works at the Tottori sand dunes in the second exhibition was a grand scale, but it was not widely introduced in the country though it drew the attention in the local media etc. This book is recorded as much as possible the recording photos and printed material of such space plan. How was the form which can be called the starting point of modern art called Minimalism developed in a local region called Tottori? Based on the cultural situation of Tottori in the 60s and 70s, we will examine the activities in the historical context.
